You could use them for creating invitations or announcements, for scrapbooking, put baby footprints on the cover of an album, for making stationary, pillows, curtains…gosh, the list could go on and on.

Baby Footprint Kits - Ink Printed Footprints
Rather than making a cast of your baby’s foot like the kits above allow you to do, these kits come with ink that is safe for your baby so you can put ink on their foot and make a footprint that way instead. It’s important that you do make sure that the ink you are using is safe to use on your baby and that you follow the instructions for how to make a footprint so you are sure to keep your baby safe and happy.

Some Ideas for Making Your Own Baby Footprint Shower Invitations
If you can’t find the exact baby shower invitations that you want, why not make your own? Heck, it would probably wind up being cheaper for you, and your guests will feel special because of the handmade touches.
You can pick up some blank notecards or postcards and then decorate them with baby footprints to your heart’s content.
What about using baby footprint stickers? Or you could pick up a paper punch in the shape of baby footprints, punch out a bunch of little footprint shapes from a different color of paper and glue them onto the notecards. There’s a really cute little baby footprint paper punch here.
Another idea that I mentioned futher up this page is to use a baby footprint stamp and stamp the cards. You can get ink in a bunch of different colors these days, and hand stamped invitations would be lovely. If you want to jazz up your stamped cards even more, you could glue a piece of pink or blue ribbon across one edge of the card as well. Be creative!
If you don’t want to buy tools to help you, you can always use your own hand to make “baby footprints”. Here’s how:
1. Make your hand into a fist.
2. Using a paintbrush, apply a light coat of waterbased acrylic craft paint to the edge of your palm and the side of your pinky while keeping your hand in a fist. Be sure you don’t put too much paint on or your print will come out goopy!
3. Press the side of your hand you just painted onto a piece of paper while still in a fist. Basically, you are using the edge of your hand and the side of your pinky like a makeshift stamp. This will create the base of the “baby foot”.
4. Now, get a little bit of paint on the tip of one of your fingers and make dots where the toes should be. Pretty cool, huh?
If you have older kids this is a really great project for them to help out with since their little fisted hands make perfect “stamps” for baby feet!
Black and White Baby Footprint Gear
Don’t you just love this simple, elegant design? One thing I really like about the idea of a black and white design is that it would work perfectly for shower gifts where you don’t know the sex of the baby. No need to try to pick between pink or blue!
